Essentials of basic knowledge of machining.
(1) Machining positioning datum: The datum used to make the workpiece occupy the correct position in the machine tool or fixture during processing is called the positioning datum. According to different positioning elements, the following are commonly used: automatic centering positioning, such as three-jaw chuck positioning. Positioning sleeve positioning: The positioning element is made into a positioning sleeve, such as a brake plate for positioning. Others are located in the V-shaped frame and semi-circular holes.
(2) Machining and assembly measurement datum: The datum used to measure the size and position of the machined surface during part inspection is called the measurement datum.
(3) Machining assembly datum: The datum used to determine the position of the part or the part in the product during assembly is called the assembly datum.
The quality of workpiece installation is an important issue in mechanical processing. It not only directly affects the machining accuracy, the speed and stability of workpiece installation, but also affects productivity. In order to ensure the relative position accuracy between the machined surface and its design basis, when installing the workpiece, the design basis of the machined surface should occupy the correct position for the machine tool. For example, in the process of finishing the ring groove, in order to ensure the circular runout between the bottom diameter of the ring groove and the axis of the skirt seat, the design reference of the workpiece during installation must coincide with the axis of the machine tool spindle.
There are various installation methods when machining parts on various machine tools. The installation method can be summarized as direct alignment, mark alignment and fixture installation. (1) Direct finding. When this method is adopted, the correct position of the workpiece on the machine tool is obtained through a series of attempts. Specifically, after the workpiece is directly installed on the machine tool, visually inspect it with a dial indicator or a stylus pen on the dial of the stylus, modify the correct position of the workpiece, and align it while checking until it meets the machining requirements.
Mark aligning method is a method in which a stylus is used on the machine tool to align the workpiece according to the line drawn on the blank or the finished product to obtain the correct position for machining. Obviously, this method also requires a marking process. The marking line itself has a certain width, there is an error when marking the line, and there is an observation error when correcting the position of the workpiece. Therefore, this method is mostly used for small batch production and low blank accuracy, and is not suitable for rough machining in the machining of large workpieces using fixtures.
Fixture installation method: The process equipment used to tighten the workpiece and make it occupy the correct position is called the machine tool fixture. The fixture is an additional device of the machine tool. Before installing the workpiece, you do not need to align the positioning one by one. It can not only ensure the processing technical requirements, but also save effort and trouble. It is a very effective positioning method and is widely used in batch and large-scale machining production.
